8TH FEBRUARY
Acts 21:39-40
“Paul replied, ‘…I beg you, permit me to speak to the people.’ And when he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the steps, motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great hush, he addressed them in the Hebrew language, saying…”
Seize the moment and tell them about Jesus!
Once again, Paul was in trouble. The crowd had been stirred up. People had made false assumptions about him. Now they were trying to kill him. How did he respond? Paul responded as he always did—he seized the opportunity and started to tell his oppressors about Jesus. He told his testimony, sharing what Jesus had done in his life.
Paul is a good example of the ministry mindset of a witness for Jesus. Give your testimony whenever the opportunity arises. If you have an opportunity to tell your story, what should you say?
- Tell them about your life before Christ. Even if you were born in a Christian family, tell them about that. If you were not born in a Christian family, tell them of your life before Christ. Try to start your testimony with elements of your story that they can relate to.
- Tell them what happened. Tell them of how you came to the conclusion that you wanted to become a Christian. Tell them of your life-changing encounter with Christ.
- Tell them about your life with Jesus. Tell them of the difference Jesus has made in your life.
MAKE IT PERSONAL:
Do you feel like your testimony isn’t dramatic enough? Choose to believe that the Holy Spirit can use your testimony to touch someone else’s life. Write down your testimony somewhere so that when you have to share it you will know what to say.
