Ephesians 6:18-19
“…praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel.”
Pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ as they represent Jesus in the world!
So often when Christians come together for prayer we pray for the needs of those in the church and the needs of loved ones. We also pray that God would soften the hearts of people we know who don’t yet know him. But when praying, we often leave out something that ought to be in our prayers.
When was the last time you prayed for your own sharing of the gospel with others? When was the last time you asked a brother or sister in Christ to pray for you as Paul requests prayer for himself? He asks his brothers and sisters in Christ to pray “for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel”.
If we are ever going to see God transform the lives of others through us we need to both pray and request prayer, as Paul did. Pray that God will open your mouth, pray that God will give you the words to be bold in your witness for him, pray that you can proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ clearly and simply so that others will understand.
MAKE IT PERSONAL
Take time now to pray for the people in your life who don’t know Jesus. Pray that God would soften their hearts and give you an opportunity to share about Jesus to them. Write your prayer here:
