5TH DECEMBER
Isaiah 55:1-3
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labour for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat was is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant…”
God offers to give you what you could never afford to buy!
That’s what grace is all about—God paying for what you could never pay for, and then offering it to you as a gift of love. You could never afford to purchase your forgiveness. We know that because of how much your forgiveness cost—the death of God’s only begotten Son. But God purchased your forgiveness and offers it to you in the person of Jesus Christ. This is something that we have to share with others! We just have to show others what God means to us, by the way, we live and the values we hold dear.
And in giving you Jesus he also wants to give you eternal life, a calling to ministry, purpose in your existence, joy, fellowship, a sense of wholeness and rightness, overflowing blessings, and a very close relationship with his Holy Spirit.
How foolish it would be for you to spend your money, time and energy trying to get what the world says will satisfy when God is waiting to give you all that and more, as you live his way.
MAKE IT PERSONAL
What are you spending your energy and time on? What is the first priority in your life? Are you turning to God for what you need on the inside?
