Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Believe God and act on his leading!
As Christians, we are called to walk by faith and not by sight. We are called to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding. But what does that mean? It means that when God is calling you to do something you have to trust him with all your heart that he will give you what is needed to get it done.
God called Noah to build an ark. Noah trusted God to resource the ark and to bring the rain. When everyone else was leaning on their own understanding—it had never rained before—Noah trusted God and his Word.
Here’s the truth. Your natural mind doesn’t get what God wants to do in your life. Your natural mind will always make you focus on your limitations, on your inabilities.
Take Moses for example. God called him to go and speak to Pharaoh. What did Moses’ mind do? Focus on limitations: “I’m nobody, they won’t believe me, they won’t listen to me, I’m not a good speaker, I’m hesitant, and I’m slow.” (Exodus 3-4) Moses had a choice to make: to either listen to his natural mind, or listen to God and follow his call. Moses followed God’s call, trusted God with all his heart, didn’t lean on his understanding and the rest is history.
MAKE IT PERSONAL:
God is reminding you today that you are not who others say you are or who your mind says you are. You are who God says you are! Read 1 Peter 2:9. What is God saying to you through this verse.
