3RD MAY
2 Timothy 4:5
“As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.
God is sending you into the lives of others.
As I think about the Christians God used in my journey towards faith in Christ many faces come to mind. I think of my dad who faithfully took us kids along to church, read bible stories with us and made us kneel down next to the lounge to pray. He instilled in me a belief in God.
I think of my primary school scripture teacher who faithfully taught me scripture for 7 years. She explained the bible stories in a way that made the Bible come alive. I think of my youth group leaders who faithfully served us each Friday night and put up with my crazy attitude and probing questions.
I think of my Christian boss as I began to work on his farm in my teenage years. He encouraged me as a young man and always seemed to have time for a chat. I think also of that girl in my senior years of high school, who God used me to bring me back to himself. She faithfully held to her standards of living showing herself to be as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.
I thank God for sending these people into my life. He used the life of each one in a powerful way to influence me towards Christ. They also spoke the word of God into my life. Each one answered my questions and took the time to have conversations with me. Some even dared to lovingly talk to me about the things they saw in my life that were unhealthy, hurtful or harmful to others or myself.
MAKE IT PERSONAL:
Think through all the people you will encounter today? Then pray and ask God to provide an opportunity for you to speak about him in each encounter.
