1 John 4:16
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
We sometimes hold back from telling people about Jesus because we believe the lies that the enemy is telling us!
Here are some lies we tend to believe:
Lie #1: People aren’t open to hearing about our faith.
You know what catches people’s attention time and time again? ENTHUSIASM! If you show enthusiasm about your faith and your God, people are most likely going to be curious about what it is that sets your heart on fire. Some people might be more open to hear about your faith than others. Keep sharing your faith with the people who are open to it and let your enthusiasm be what opens the door for you to share your faith with those who aren’t open to hearing the good news of salvation.
Lie #2: Sharing God’s love is reserved for extroverts and for great evangelists.
You have been sent into your workplace, into your family and into your neighbourhood to proclaim the good news of salvation. Jesus calls you to be his witness; he has given you the Holy Spirit to help you! You know what made Billy Graham a great evangelist? The Holy Spirit! Billy Graham has the Holy Spirit and you have him too! You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength!
Lie #3: He or she will never come to Christ.
God deeply and passionately loves everyone you know. So don’t give up! Remember the Apostle Paul. Before he came to know and serve Christ, he was one of biggest persecutors of the Christian church and the most unlikely of candidates to serve God.
