Romans 14:7-9

“For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself.  For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord.  So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lords.  For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.”

Jesus Christ has the right to be the Lord of your life!

‘Lord’ is not just a lovely title for Jesus. It reflects his rightful place in your heart and mind. As Lord, he rules. He doesn’t simply give opinions or advice. His word carries authority. In fact, he said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (Matthew 28:18)

He doesn’t rule by intimidation and fear. He’s a good ruler who rules by love, who’s trustworthy and kind and wants the best for his people. But he is Lord. He’s your friend, but he is Lord. “So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lords.”

Jesus lived during his time on earth as a man. He was fully human—suffering, experiencing loneliness, rejection, and pain, even ridicule. It’s easy to think that is the sum of what Jesus is like. A real person who can sympathise with us and understand our pain. That he is, but he’s reminding you today that he’s also fully God.

He is Lord!

MAKE IT PERSONAL:

Can people tell that Jesus is really Lord of your life? How is it making a difference in the way you drive? In the way you talk to your family? In the way you spend your money and time?
