29TH FEBRUARY
2 Timothy 2:24-26
“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.”
People are held captive by the snare of the devil!
When I was a young boy I used to set bird traps out in the scrub with my father to catch small finches. On occasions, we would be successful and bring these wild birds back to our home aviary to enjoy them as pets.
While the birds had some freedom in the aviary to forage for food, build their nests and breed with a mate, they never lived very long in captivity and would inevitably die.
Likewise, people who don’t know Jesus are held captive in the devil’s snare. They believe his lies and set about foraging for their fortunes, becoming lovers of themselves and their achievements. The devil has them believing that they are in control of their future and keeps them distracted from the truth.
Today God wants to use you in every circumstance and encounter to show his loving kindness so that others may experience the truth and come to their senses and escape from the snare of the enemy.
