2 Corinthians 4:2
“We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.”
Don’t try to mix cunning or manipulative practices with being a witness.
Just talk honestly and openly about your relationship with Jesus. You don’t have to have all the answers and you can share freely about your struggles. But don’t try to present a false reality as if everything is great and there are no problems for you because you are a Christian. People know that’s fake. It’s how Jesus is with you in your problems and struggles that matters to them.
And guard yourself from the temptation to soften what the Bible says about how sin separates us from God, or about Jesus being the only way to deal with our sin problem. You might think that people will react negatively to these things, and there is that possibility. But people are much more likely to respond to the open statement of the truth from God’s word than to your politically correct tampering.
