Galatians 1:6-9
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.”
Make sure you don’t change the gospel!
Do you remember the hope you experienced when you came to know that Jesus is alive and provides eternal life for all those who by faith receive him and choose to no longer live for themselves but for him? This is the gospel of Jesus Christ that the Apostle Paul is reminding the Galatian church.
Our world is not too different to the world back in Paul’s day. Today we have people preaching a “gospel” based on works, or a “gospel” that promises great wealth and prosperity. Some preach a “gospel” that is based on the views of man rather than the teaching of the bible. When you begin believing these “gospels” you cease to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Don’t desert “him who called you in the grace of Christ“. Don’t be tempted to be “turning to a different gospel”. The world is desperately searching for hope and God wants you to remember that only he can provide lasting hope and life through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
