27TH MAY
Colossians 4:3-4
“At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison – that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.”
When we pray, God opens doors for us to share Christ and he helps us make the most of those opportunities.
We need to speak the right words in the right way. We need the courage to speak up at the right time. We need to be able to speak to the needs of the people we’re sharing with in a way they’ll understand. And that’s the work of the Holy Spirit in us. Isaiah 42:7 foretold Jesus coming to “open eyes that are blind,” and the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of the spiritually blind as we prayerfully rely on him in prayer. It’s the Holy Spirit who makes it clear and personal to people.
2 Cor. 4:4 (NIV) says, “The god of this age [Satan] has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.” They just don’t get it. And it’s not just an intellectual problem—it’s a spiritual problem. Satan’s actively blinding their minds.
MAKE IT PERSONAL:
Who in your world is blinded by Satan? How can you show them kindness today?
