25TH OCTOBER
2 Corinthians 2:15-17
“For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.”
We are people of sincerity.
Representing Christ to the people in your life, in a way that draws people to Him, is beyond your ability, but God will work through you anyway!
After talking about the kind of life that represents Jesus and is attractive to those who are seeking and open to God, Paul says, “Who is sufficient for these things?” I know that I sure feel that way. What should I say to the people around me? How can I be open with them about Jesus in a way that will draw them to Him? How can I know the right time to speak? I’m not good at talking to people one-on-one.
Paul goes on to say that the answer is not in learning good sales techniques. We aren’t peddlers of God’s word! No, we are people of sincerity, simply sharing the realities of life with Jesus. We can have confidence because we have been commissioned by God to share Christ with people. And we know that He has not left us alone in our witness. “In the sight of God we speak in Christ.”
Step out with confidence in Christ today and share openly about your relationship with Him. You and your words may be weak, but He and His Spirit in you are strong!
MAKE IT PERSONAL
What do you think it means to be a person of sincerity?
