21ST NOVEMBER
Luke 4:16-19
“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read. And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’”
When Jesus came back to the town he had been brought up in, he wanted to clearly declare his calling from God the Father. He wanted people to know what the Father had sent him to do. So he found a verse in Isaiah that expressed it and read it to them: “The Spirit of the Lord…has anointed me to proclaim good news…to set free….”
This is still his purpose on earth and he lives it out through you!
As you interact with people today, ask questions that could open a conversational door that will allow you to encourage them with the hope that Jesus’ good news brings.
Take a little time right now and ask God to bring you those moments of opportunity. Ask him to start you talking when those moments arise.
MAKE IT PERSONAL:
Take some time now to pray, asking God to bring you those “moments of opportunity”.
