Colossians 3:12
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”
No act of kindness is ever wasted.
I imagine all of us still have shopping to do for Christmas. Who doesn’t this time of year? This is, after all, the busiest shopping time of the year.
Here’s the challenge for you this week—if you’re going to be spending that much time out shopping these last few days before Christmas why not make it a point to show kindness while out?
You could easily give the person you find next to you in line a compliment. You could be patient and nice to any of the store employees or cashiers that help you out. You could help an elderly lady carry her bags to the car park. You could buy a coffee for the next person who is about to order. You could buy lunch for a homeless person. Buy a Christmas present for the workmate no one seems to like.
This is what Jesus did when he lived on earth. No, he didn’t go Christmas shopping, but he did walk the streets helping whomever he could help. Follow his example and help whoever you can help this week.
