Mark 10:23-27
“And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, ‘How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!’ And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, ‘Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.’ And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, ‘Then who can be saved?’ Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.’”
Never write someone off as impossible for God to save!
Is there someone like that in your life? Someone who is so secular, or so committed to another religion, or so self-righteous, or so consumed with sex, or so focused on their wealth, or just so ungodly, that you can’t see them ever turning to Christ in faith? It seems impossible.
Listen to Jesus’ response to the disciples in today’s passage: “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
Saul of Tarsus must have seemed ‘impossible’ to believers in his day, as he persecuted Christians. But God still reached into his life, got his attention and revealed himself to Saul, who we know so well as the Apostle Paul. Although the people you are praying for seem ‘impossible’, pray in faith for the work God wants to do in their lives through you.
MAKE IT PERSONAL:
Take a bit of time right now, to pray specifically by name for the ‘unreachable’ people in your life.
