15TH SEPTEMBER
2 Corinthians 5:14-15
“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”
Jesus’ plan for you, when he died for you, was to refocus your life onto his perfect priorities and purposes for you!
The Lord’s message to us today is clear in this passage, isn’t it? You can either live for yourself or you can live for God. Living for ourselves comes naturally to us. We can dress it up with religious language and actions, but still self is at the heart of our natural life.
If you are going to live for God, it will not be natural. You will need to consciously decide each day: “My life is for God and today I will put Him before myself — his desires, his purposes, his pleasure, his plans before my desires and purposes and pleasures and plans.
Jesus died and rose for you, and now he is calling you to live for him. He will enable you to do what he calls you to do. In fact, he will do it through you! But he will not choose for you. You must choose to live for him and not for yourself.
MAKE IT PERSONAL:
If you don’t think you have much to give right now to God and to the world, what do you think God expects of you?
