15TH JANUARY
Ecclesiastes 3:1
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
Learn to trust God and wait for his timing in your life!
Time tests commitment. Time tests faith. Time tests hope. Caleb was 40 when he went with the 12 spies and returned with Joshua proclaiming that the Israelites could take the land. In spite of his faithfulness he had to spend 40 years in the wilderness because of Israel’s rebellion. He was 80 when they finally crossed the Jordan River. It took 5 years for him to go to Joshua and ask him for leave to go fight for his mountain. It took Caleb 45 years to see a promise become reality.
Most of us don’t like to wait. We often get frustrated waiting for fast food or waiting for a funny cat video to load on YouTube. This mindset often carries over into our spiritual lives with us rushing to the next big thing. But while most of us are in a hurry, it seems God is usually not in a hurry.
God is reminding you today that he doesn’t move within your timeframe. You shouldn’t be discouraged because you have been praying and waiting for that friend or family member to turn to Christ for years now and you can’t see anything happening yet. He is not uncaring or mad at you. God always has good reasons for making us wait.
In your waiting, keep developing your character, keep trusting God, keep believing God’s promises for your life.
MAKE IT PERSONAL
Make a note on your reflections on how well you handle seasons of waiting and ask the Holy Spirit to help you in your waiting.
