11TH JULY
Matthew 5:43-47
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?”
A ministry mindset is unlike anything people are used to!
Do you want your Christian life to stand out like a lighthouse in the darkness, pointing people to God? Then learn to live with a ministry mindset.
You actually can’t live that way, but Jesus, who is in you, can. If he can hang on the cross and ask the Father to forgive those who crucified him, then he can love your enemies and pray for them…through you.
Most Christians are great at loving people generously if those people are dear friends and family who love them back. But a ministry mindset approaches even the people in your life who are difficult and unloving—even those who cheat you—and says, “Lord, please show your love for this person through me. How can I love them? Please reach out to them through me and bless them.”
