10TH JULY
Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
God doesn’t want your relationship with him to be a private thing that is just between you and him!
“Let your light shine before others,” Jesus says to the disciples. God’s part in your life should be as visible as “a city set on a hill” that “cannot be hidden.”
Make sure that your relationship with God comes out in your conversations, not as preaching, but simply as the sharing of what matters to you in life, the expression of your love for him. When God is at the centre of your thoughts—when he is the focus of your life, he will come out in what you do and say, “so that they may see.”
Don’t leave it to the people in your life to somehow figure out that it is God that is shaping your life. Communicate that by talking about answered prayer, about what he is teaching you, about how his word is guiding you.
